This game is a work of fiction and created only for entertainment purposes. Includes strong language and use of alcohol. Also suitable as party game when taking decision turns while projected on screen.

Tech

Game is a demo project for a custom visual novel framework that uses native HTML images and other elements instead of canvas. Main goal was to reduce build, install and update times for developers and artists as well as website load times for players. Story text format has localized lines on top of each other which in our case helped to translate the story while retaining the context. Since the engine is using img elements there is no need to refresh the whole area at 60 fps. Engine supports sprite sheets with various fps as well. Small customizations to UI are relatively simple to do with CSS and developers may use default browser debug tools. Native elements help as well applying basic visual effects, creating test automation and implementing accessibility features in future.
